Hello Fellow Artists!

I’m so excited to finally bring you my very first online workshop on the simple techniques of watercolor.

For years I have used watercolor as a favorite medium and I think you will find that you love it too.

Whether you are needing a workshop as a complete beginner in watercolor or just need to have a refresher workshop to brush up your skills in watercolor and familiarize yourself with it again, this is the workshop for you!

Simple watercolor techniques applied to a simple line drawing always catches the eyes of those around you, and helps you create a piece of art that you can be proud enough to frame and hang on your wall or give as a lovely gift.

I hope you will join me in this new workshop!

Blessings!

Constance

A Description of The Projects

Project 1.

simple STUDY page OF the OLIVE BRANCH

To begin this workshop, we will take time to study the Olive Tree from online resources. It’s always good to get to know our subject in as many ways as we can.

I will then guide you in practicing some drawing techniques and help you to complete simple line drawings of each of the different parts of the lovely Olive Branch.

With this first Project, we will focus on our drawing skills and learn to observe the different shapes we can see.

I will also provide you with my completed Study Page of the Olive Branch for your own reference.

Project 2.

SIMPLE LINE DRAWINGs OF TULIPs IN GRAPHITE

Now that we know how to observe our subject and draw out the shapes we see in each of its parts, we will do some quick studies of Tulips and then get to work on our study page of these beautiful flowers.

In this Project we will go a step further and create two simple line drawings, completing our two Tulips on 5 x 7 handmade or watercolor paper.

I will provide my drawings of both of these Tulips if you feel more comfortable having them in front of you. However, if you are ready and confident in your own drawing skills this is your time to put your skills to work!

PROJECT 3.

simple COLOR STUDies OF TULIPS AND OLIVE BRANCH

In this Project, we will complete a simple line drawing of our Olive Branch, which will finalize our three study pages and three simple line drawings of each of our subjects.

Using our study pages, we will begin simple watercolor practice.

We will learn three different watercolor techniques, and keeping it simple, we will choose the technique that we each feel most comfortable with.

Once we are ready, we will make simple watercolor charts for each of our three subjects and then add color to our study pages.

project 4.

Completion of all three projects in watercolor

Finally, we will complete our own botanical art pieces of our two lovely Tulips and our beautiful Olive Branch in watercolor!

I will guide you carefully step by step from light to dark shades and tones.

Each of these three art pieces will be available for your viewing during this workshop. You are free to use them as guides for drawing, as well as for our color matching.
